LGBT Film Series: AWOL

In partnership with the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks and Civic Theatre of Allentown, Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center is pleased to co-host the 5th annual LGBT Film Series, presented by TD Bank.

On September 8, SteelStacks will screen AWOL. This screening will be followed by a special talk back featuring Deb Shoval, the director of the film.

Set in rural Pennsylvania, a young woman named Joey (Kirke) searches for direction. When a visit to an army recruiting office seems to provide a clear path, Joey falls in love with housewife Rayna (Wool) and sets both women off on a path neither one of them ever anticipated.

AWOL was nominated for Best Narrative Feature at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival.
