In partnership with the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks and Civic Theatre of Allentown, Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center is pleased to co-host the 5th annual LGBT Film Series, presented by TD Bank.

On September 13, Civic Theatre of Allentown will host a screening of Henry Gamble's Birthday Party.

Two teenage boys, Henry Gamble, a preachers’ kid, and his friend Gabe, have a sleepover the night before Henry's seventeenth birthday party. Typical teenage boy chat quickly turns sexual, and it's implied that Henry has a crush on Gabe.

The day of the party arrives and Henry's mom wakes in a state of limbo, middle-aged, with a secret. Later that afternoon, Henry carefully navigate the religious structures and sexual secrets of his community, as do the adults and teenagers of the party; all struggling to tread the public and private, and their longing, despite themselves and their faith, for earthly love.

Henry Gamble’s Birthday Party was the winner of Best Feature awards at both the Chicago International and Sidewalk Film Festivals.
