The Fine Art Galleries at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center host its first history exhibit, The Secret Symphony: Gay Composers of Classical Music From September 6th to November 12th. The exhibit is presented in partnership with Stonewall National Museum in Wilton Manors, Florida.

The Secret Symphony: Gay Composers of Classical Music asks if a composer’s sexual orientation has an influence on their creative expression. Profiled composers include West Side Story composer Leonard Bernstein, The Nutcracker composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Pulitzer Prize winner Aaron Copland, and 12th century abbess, composer, and mystic Hildegard von Bigen.

Join us for an exhibit reception on November 6th from 6:30PM-8:00PM featuring classically-trained opera singer, Cantor Ellen Sussman, who will share clips of featured composer's music and help to put the composers into context.

The Fine Art Galleries are open on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 1-6pm, and anytime there is a program at the Center.
