Christina Brasavage's 12 Days of Giving Page
The American writer, civil rights activist, and queer icon Audre Lorde said, “We must be the change we wish to see in the world.”
The LGBTQ community faces health and social disparities that we can’t ignore. Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center is committed to providing the Lehigh Valley with arts & culture programs, programs for LGBTQ youth, LGBT- focused health programs and vital supportive services to face these disparities. We can’t continue to do this work and make impactful change without your support.
The impassioned words spoken by Lorde echo the sentiments of Ujima and Kuumba, two of the seven principles of Kwanzaa. The seven principles, or Nguzo Saba, all represent ideals developed by Dr. Maulana Karenga and which speak to the power of communities. Ujima, the principle of Collective Work and Responsibility, asks us to build and maintain our community together. Kuumba, the principle of Creativity, states that we should always do as much as we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.
The "12 Days of Giving" at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center are upon us and we need to raise $24,000 from individuals in the final 12 days of 2020. Would you please consider a tax-deductible donation of $42, $85, or more? In what ways that you can, help us reach our goal to raise $24,000 during the last 12 days of 2020. Your gift is how we can build and maintain our community together.
Best wishes and happy holidays,
P.S. If your employer matches charitable donations, please don't forget to let them know about your gift as well!
