LGBT Film Series: Freeheld


In partnership with the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks and Civic Theatre of Allentown, Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center is pleased to co-host the 5th annual LGBT Film Series, presented by TD Bank.

On October 1 at Civic Theatre of Allentown we will screen Freeheld.

Laurel Hester is a decorated New Jersey Police officer. After being diagnosed with cancer, she wants to leave her hard earned pension to her domestic partner, Stacie Andree. However the county officials, Freeholders, conspire to prevent Laurel from doing so. 

Hard-nosed detective Dane Wells and activist Steven Goldstein (founder of Garden State Equality) unite in Laurel and Stacie's defense, rallying police officers and ordinary citizens to support their fight for justice and equality. Based on a true story.
