2022 Gala & LGBTQ+ Community Leadership Awards

A fabulous evening to celebrate the Lehigh Valley's LGBTQ+ community! This signature fundraising event for Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center features exciting entertainment, honors significant leaders in our community, and includes dinner and dessert, cash bar, silent and live auctions, a special appeal, and keynote remarks from Kasey Suffredini (he/him), CEO and National Campaign Director at Freedom for All Americans. The event will be hosted by Lehigh Valley drag queen Elektra Fearce St. James, featuring performances by NYC boylesque dancer Milo Pony.

This year's theme is cabaret! Guests are encouraged to dress up in theme. Dress code is business casual.

Suggested event attire: The theme is cabaret and the event attire is business casual! Anything glitz and glam goes! Suits, tuxedos, and flapper-like dresses fit the bill. Popular colors include black, white, silver, red. Accessories include feathers, pearls, top hats, canes, sparkles.

Mistress of Ceremonies: Elektra Fearce St. James (she/her) is a longtime leader in the Lehigh Valley drag community and has experience engaging volunteers in support of numerous LGBTQ+ non-profits. By day Elektra is known as Ariel Torres (he/him) and previously worked as Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center's Administrative Manager, and then went on to become Pride Programs Manager, which led to producing Lehigh Valley Pride for the last 4 years. Elektra Fearce St. James has performed across Pennsylvania & neighboring states and has received numerous drag titles including, Miss Gay Pennsylvania America (2009), Miss Stonewall (2009), Miss Gay Allentown America (2009), Miss Diamonz (2007-2008), and East Coast All American Goddess (2017). Elektra enjoys using her artistic vision to raise funds for LGBTQ+ organizations while celebrating drag as a cultural art form within the LGBTQ+ community. Ariel is currently working as the Associate Director of The Pride Center for Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity at Lehigh University. He brings a wealth of experiences to the Lehigh community and seeks to center community engagement as a critical component of his work in the center and build relationships within the Lehigh Valley in support of students, staff, and faculty.

Keynote Speaker: Kasey Suffredini, CEO and National Campaign Director at Freedom for All Americans, has been the chief architect of bipartisan campaigns to successfully secure a number of national firsts, including passing the country’s first standalone statewide transgender public accommodations law, passing comprehensive statewide transgender nondiscrimination protections for the first time in a Republican-controlled state, and passing comprehensive statewide LGBTQ nondiscrimination protections for the first time in the South. From 2016-2018, Kasey co-chaired the historic, award-winning Freedom for All Massachusetts / Yes on 3 ballot campaign, winning the first statewide popular vote on transgender rights in U.S. history by a landslide two-thirds margin (68-32%). Kasey’s previous roles include Executive Director of MassEquality, Public Policy Director at Family Equality Council, and State Legislative Director at the National LGBTQ Task Force. A transgender attorney, Kasey also served as President of the National LGBT Bar Association.

Boylesque Dancer: Milo Pony (he/they), the Broadway Brony of Burlesque, is the co-creator/co-producer of Members Only Boylesque, NYC's premiere award winning queer boylesque company. He is a 4-time Glam Award nominee for Best Burlesque, has performed all over the world including on Vacaya's inaugural cruise to P-Town, and has performed for many years in Broadway Bares. He was also featured last year as the #instaman in Attitude Magazine (July '20). Milo is thrilled to lend his support to queer causes, and is looking forward to being a part of the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center's Gala!

 

 

COVID-19 safety: Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center prioritizes the safety of our community. Therefore, all attendees will be required to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination (physical or digital) upon entrance. Additionally, face masks are required and will be available at no cost for attendees who need one. Hand sanitizer will also be available throughout the venue.
