Jessie LaPorte's 12 Days of Giving Page
We are coming to the end of a decade. A decade where we finally have the right to marry whomever we love. And divorce whoever we can’t stand anymore because they are a lying, cheating waste of time.
While advocates were fighting for marriage equality, what were you doing? How many times did you visit Chick fil-A for their delicious Chick fil-A Chicken Sandwiches? How many times did you enjoy the warm hospitality of the restaurant chain that donates millions of dollars to anti-LGBTQ organizations? How many Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich Combos did you scarf down your throat while thinking “well The Gays can get married now, I guess I can eat homophobic chicken now, right?”
Think of how many queers YOU single-handedly denied the right to have an expensive and exhausting divorce by stuffing that Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich Combo in your mouth.
But now is the time to redeem yourself.
For the next 12 days, you have the limited-time opportunity to wipe your sins clean by supporting the amazing work of Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center.
So think to yourself, how many delicious Chick fil-A Chicken Sandwiches did you enjoy this decade?
We are asking individuals to donate the price of 28 Chick fil-A Chicken Sandwiches which comes to $85 or however many sandwiches you think you purchased since 2010.
This is equal to just 13 Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich Combos, 10 Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich Combos, and for you breakfast lovers out there, 16 4-piece Chick-n-Mini Combos.
In addition to being forgiven for your sins so that you aren’t basically exactly like Mike Pence, you get to support daily programs that provide a healthy and supportive space for LGBT youth, free arts and culture programming in a sober space, an array of support groups, and our work towards improving the health of LGBT folks in Eastern, PA and beyond.
I hope for your sake that you decide to seize upon this once in a lifetime opportunity and start this new decade with a clean slate.
Thank you and happy holidays,
P.S. If your employer matches charitable donations, please don't forget to let them know about your gift as well!
