The Library at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center presents the September discussion of the center's Queer Poetry Reading Group, featuring Junebat by non-binary writer John Elizabeth Stinzi. Junebat was a finalist for the Raymond Souster Award from the League of Canadian Poets.
Junebat is Stinzi's debut collection of poems, which map the deep depression the poet struggled with as they questioned and came to grips with their gender identity, navigating through the invention of the Junebat, a contradictory, evolving, ever-perplexing creature.
The Winnipeg Free Press writes, "Lively and electric." Ms. Magazine writes, "A powerful debut collection of poetry."
Limited free copies of the book are available -- request a copy with your RSVP. If you don't need a free copy, books can be purchased at this link -- and 10% of your purchase supports free arts programs at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center. The book is available in print or e-book formats.
