Ariel Torres' 12 Days of Giving Page
Welcome to my page! I know the holidays can mean a lot of different things to us, as we all experience life differently. One thing we have in common is the pandemic which has impacted us all on many different levels, which can make the holidays feel less joyful. Thankfully, though my day to day may have changed, I was one of the fortunate ones to be able to continue working from home during all of the madness, whereas many were not as fortunate. I am blessed to be able to work at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, who has worked VERY hard all year long to try and soften the impact of Covid-19 by providing our community with virtual alternatives to our regular in person programs. Some of our services are our Youth Program Project Silk, Parents of Trans Kids, Free LGBT Legal Clinic, Bereavement Group, & our newer program, Managing Emotions During COVID-19. Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center provides open and inclusive services free of charge to all participants regardless of their ability to pay, and regardless of insurance or income status. Per our mission, some services are intended for LGBT-identified individuals while others are open to all.
As an out LGBT individual it's a dream come true to be on the forefront of equity and inclusion. Not only do I identify as an LGBT person, but I am fortunate to work in the very field that impacts my everyday life, working every day towards a goal where we all can be treated the way everyone should be treated... equally and fairly.
Aside from being LGBT and the stressful impact of living as our authentic selves every day, many still feel alone on this journey called life and this pandemic has magnified that feeling in ways, for some, that we can not imagine. I am proud of the important work we do at The Center and rely on the kindness of our community for the collective support that many need, which helps those who live in your own backyard. Today is a chance for you to give to those who are less fortunate by supporting our community center. Your donation today, no matter how big or small, is a direct impact on the well being of others who are not as fortunate. I ask that you consider making a donation today to help us be there for those who need and rely on our supportive services, which can be found here- https://www.bradburysullivancenter.org/supportive_services
The "12 Days of Giving" at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center are upon us and we need to raise $24,000 from individuals in the final 12 days of 2020. Would you please consider a tax-deductible donation of $42, $85, or more?
I appreciate you taking the time to read my page and would like to leave you with this quote:
