Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center is a nonprofit organization that provides arts, health, youth, and Pride programs to strengthen and support the LGBTQ+ community across the Lehigh Valley. Founded in 2014 and opened in 2016, Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center has become a radically inclusive Queer space in the Lehigh Valley. We foster Queer joy & liberation. Data and Evaluation Coordinator

Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center provides community programming via arts, health, youth, and events to strengthen and support the LGBTQ+ community in the greater Lehigh Valley. Our Center has become a regional and statewide leader in LGBTQ+  health promotion, and received recognition for our life-enriching LGBTQ+ community programs. Our Center prides itself on providing services to address the unique needs that exist for LGBTQ+ people.

Position Summary: The Data and Evaluation Coordinator is responsible for the Center’s data-driven solutions to LGBTQ+ health inequities as well as the evaluation of programs and services for impact and grant compliance. This position works collaboratively as part of a team and is also responsible for Bonterra Case management System, the database used by our Center. Based on a thorough understanding of LGBTQ+ community health needs, the Data and Evaluation Coordinator works with the Leadership Team to provide localized data from the biannual Pennsylvania LGBTQ Health Needs Assessment to local LGBTQ+ community organizations throughout Pennsylvania, as well as technical assistance to support their utility of this data for program development. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Utilization of data from biannual PA LGBTQ Health Needs Assessment
    • Prepare localized and demographic reports from the biannual Pennsylvania LGBTQ health needs assessment
    • Provide technical assistance to LGBTQ+ community-based organizations in Pennsylvania to assist them with utilization of needs assessment data for program development
    • Support and manage data requests from LGBTQ+ community-based organizations in compliance with requirements from the PA Department of Health
    • Compare data from the PA LGBTQ Health Needs Assessment over time to other data sets such as BRFSS and YRBS to clarify evolving LGBTQ+ community health needs
    • Provide data for internal program and development staff on a regular basis
  • Evaluation of tobacco prevention and control programs
    • Evaluate Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center’s tobacco prevention and control programs
    • Assist in statewide evaluation of LGBTQ+ tobacco disparity efforts
    • Assist LGBTQ+ community-based organizations with developing evaluation metrics for tobacco prevention and control and programs
    • Maintain knowledge of best and promising practices and trends in program evaluation 
  • Attend staff meetings as scheduled
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Comfort with public speaking and delivering presentations in meetings and conferences to a variety of audiences including public health officials and community-based organizers
  • Ability to effectively coordinate partnerships with other LGBTQ+ organizations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience required. Relevant work experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable
  • Previous experience in a community-based non-profit (the ideal candidate will have prior full-time experience involving data, research, or evaluation)
  • Understanding of the programmatic and direct service needs for an LGBTQ+ community-based organization
  • Cultural competency around LGBTQ+ communities
  • Passion for LGBTQ+ health equity
  • Child Abuse, State Police, and FBI background checks are required for this position

Benefits/Compensation 

This full-time position offers a salary range of $39,000-$44,000. Salary offered will be commensurate with applicants experience. Sr. Manager LGBT Marketing & Communications Manager

Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center is seeking to hire a Sr. Manager of Marketing and Communications to drive social media and creative design of BSC. This individual must be a creative, experienced self-starter with an understanding of LGBTQ+ people and business media marketing. This position reports to the Deputy Director.

DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Communications

SUPERVISES: Associate Communications & Marketing Coordinator & Interns

STATUS: Exempt 

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week; generally, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Monday – Friday, with schedule adjustments as needed per program necessity. Mondays are WFH, with additional days optional. However, this is not a virtual position.


POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Center’s Marketing/Communications plan as well as the Center’s vision of integrated branding, visualized data, and engaging promotional and development materials. Additional responsibilities include planning, organizing and directing social media, creative design projects and the on-going creative support for all departments.

The Sr. Manager will utilize expertise in the design of infographics and promotional and development materials, position works ensure that data is presented visually in formats appropriate for a variety of audiences, including public health professionals, funders, and LGBTQ community members.  

This position works collaboratively as part of the development & communications team; the position reports directly to the Deputy Director. Interdepartmental communication is also an important piece of this position as communication materials will include the creation of social media graphics, health promotion materials, program promotion materials, pride artwork, and development-related projects (events, gala, etc.).

The Manager must work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure our mission, vision and values are aligned with their work. It will be important that the position holds or gains a thorough understanding of the center’s history.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • All of the responsibilities listed below are considered essential functions of this position. Additionally, this position is expected to ensure that the core operating values and the strategic direction of the center are adhered to. 
  • Consult and advise key staff on best approaches to strategic communication channels using visual communication techniques and products. Design and produce templates, infographics, dashboards, brochures, posters, interactive media and other data visualization that engage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as on-staff designer and execute in-house design projects in order to provide advanced levels of design for all formal communication materials including designs for collateral, videos, social media, web and data visualization.
  • Plan, direct and execute multi-faceted communication campaigns based on internal and external communication needs of the Center.
  • Managing, planning, directing, controlling and implementing marketing and communications plan/strategy with an aggressive communications program in the media markets including social media with an emphasis on BSC programs, media advocacy and support for fundraising events;
  • Provides leadership and oversight for planning, executing, and evaluating projects according to timelines and budgets.
  • Tracks project milestones, provides status reports, and ensures projects are on track to meet grant/funder requirements and deliverables
  • Support ongoing website maintenance, including reviewing event content and posting general updates.
  • Manage the print and production process for all creative, including soliciting bids, preparing files and ensuring finished work meets quality standards and defined budgets.
  • Managing inventory and maintenance of hardware and software required for production and visual asset management.
  • Identifies tool requirements and supports creative services needs of the department. 
  • Create and adhere to quality assurance and best practices in data visualization and graphic design.
  • Engage with diverse stakeholders on visual projects that support the Center's overall mission.
  • Collaborate with programs and departments as needed to coordinate common branding aspects across all platforms to ensure consistency, quality and compliance.
  • Manage multimedia production to support communication across internal and external channels, including events, executive communication, press materials, digital properties, social channels and interactive websites.
  • Attend staff meetings, and training as required by the Center.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, graphic design or a related field and a minimum of three years’ experience, non-profit experience a plus, as well as a portfolio of communications materials; and/or commensurate years of experience with a proven track record may exempt degree.
  2. Excellent communication skills, ability to handle multiple projects under deadline pressure, be detail and results-oriented;
  3. Demonstrative experience with creative design aspects related to website, social media and marketing including print;
  4. Knowledge of the latest advances in effective use of Internet technologies;
  5. Media relations experience, including media sponsorship negotiation and pitching to local TV, print and radio on an on-going basis.
  6. Strong Adobe Creative Cloud suite skills.
  7. Previous experience in data visualization (3+ Years)
  8. HTML/ CSS knowledge is a plus, but not required.
  9. Knowledge of NationBuilder CMS is a plus, but not required.
  10. Working knowledge of DSLR cameras.
  11. Ability to work within Google Workspace (formerly G Suite).
  12. Understanding of the programmatic and development needs for an LGBT Community Center.
  13. Ability to think strategically and “out of the box” to create effective visuals that meet the needs of the LGBTQ+ community.
  14. Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police, and FBI criminal background checks are required for this position.
  15. Spanish Language spoken and written proficiency is preferred but not required.
  16. Prior experience in engaging historically underrepresented and marginalized communities including LGBTQ+ community members and those living with HIV.
  17. Position requires use of agency vehicles and/or personal vehicles or access to independent transportation.
  18. Valid driver's license required & proof of motor vehicle insurance (for use of personal vehicle)
